A bridge that carries thousands of travelers on Interstate 5 over the Skagit River collapsed north of Seattle Thursday.

No one was killed, but three people were pulled from the water. One of them saw a semi with an oversized load hit the bridge just before the collapse.

In 1999, a twister tore through town, killing more than 40 people.

The EF5 tornado that tore through the city of Moore, Oklahoma, on Monday afternoon killed at least 24 people and injured 324, according to CNN. Many of those hurt and killed were young children whose families are returning to the piles of rubble that used to be their homes.

Oklahoma devastation in pictures

The damage and devastation of the recent Oklahoma tornadoes is difficult to comprehend. It is only when we see pictures that we can even come close to understanding the level of loss and destruction. The nearly 2-mile-wide twister sliced through Oklahoma Monday, claiming at least 24 lives.
